New Cafe For Cowal
The Shore Cafe and General Store in Strone, Argyll & Bute, Scotland, was formerly a post office that underwent a three-month makeover post-lockdown version 1. The site was transformed in to a calming, contemporary cafe and shop and grocers with stunning views across the Holy Loch.
New owners Susan and Paul worked tirelessly on the renovations once Covid-19 restrictions were eased in the summer of 2020, with setbacks and surprises along the way. Opening a new business can be difficult under the best of circumstances, but a global pandemic has thrown up many unexpected challenges.
However, for the limited time in 2020 that they managed to open the doors to welcome locals and visitors alike to their labour of love on the Cowal Peninsula, The Shore was a lively and welcoming hub in the village. The Shore Cafe offers fresh provisions and groceries, locally-roasted coffee and specialty teas, home-baking, homemade soup, breakfasts and hot rolls for dine in or take away.
